Transmission Painting

My Turbo 400 still has a bit of orange paint on it from the rebuild. I know no one is going to see it, but I was thinking of trying to get a little more of the paint off and then painting it with high heat silver paint.

My stepdad say he thinks that would be a bad idea. He said paint holds heat in. I realize that, but is it enough to worry about ?

The transmissions that come from performance shops all seem to be painted black.

I don't think the paint would be enough to cause a heat problem. I had one case that was painted but it didn't stay that way. I chucked up a wire wheel in a drill and went to town on it.
