Friday night!

Friday is our first Cruisin' In The Rock at the Rivermarket. With tempertures forecast for the mid-70's I anticipate a huge turn out. Come on down and give us a hand parking cars and registering folks. It ought to be fun.

May be I need to jump in A-Team van, go to NLR Airport and fly a piper, and the same you are all stuck in a garage, with a bunch of tools and a rare 69 Pontiac Beaumont that you have to reassemble? Oups sorry I was in a Movie...

yep, pretty much! the start time is 6pm but lots of folks that don't work get there a lot earlier.I'm gonna try to get there as soon as i can.I'll probably be helping Mark drive his car lot down there.lol

Cruisin' In The Rock was a blowout tonight. We registered 154 cars. I suspect it was closer to 175. I saw cars come in, cruise through and keep going because we were out of places for them to park. With more space we might have topped 200. Foot traffic was huge. Lots of people walking around and checking out the cars

Congrats to Mark Osbourne (sp?, sorry Mark) our newest member. He walked away with the Best Cruiser award for his 77SE car. I'd point out that the Boy Scouts of Troop 108 picked the winners. Those kids were hot for the "Smokey and The Bandit" car.

Thanks to all of you who helped out tonight and a special thanks to Carol and LRCVB. Without them it wouldn't happen.

It was the best cruise-in I had been too! Alot of people and tons of cars. I was shocked they picked my car! That IMO that is one of the best awards ever!!! Really made my nite!!

Critter: Curious if there was any specific reason they chose this Friday instead of next? I would think it would be preferred to have it after the time change so most of the cars wouldn't be in the dark?

There were several reasons. That little basketball tourney across the river was one of them. The fact that a certain car club wanted a weekend open to finish prep for their car show the follow weekend was another. I also think there was another conflict on the schedule for doing it on the normally scheduled weekend.

I think it might have been the smart move after seeing the weather forecast last night. They're talking rain all week next week. Last night's weather was PERFECT!

Sorry I didn't chat with you and Chris any longer than I did. They keep me pretty busy during these things.

It's Osborne..LOL...It only won because i put in new headlights and grilles in it that afternoon.teehee...i had a good time, there was a great crowd and a few cars i haven't seen before.A few of the drunks made me nervous,but i guess that goes with the territory.First time i've driven a Pontiac in 17 months.I miss my car:(
