Well it was warm, but overall a pretty nice show. The drive was pleasant and the road wasn't bad (though there was some road work). They said there were 98 registered cars and I don't htink that counted the River City Cruisers cars. Mark Osborne and Cara Haynie came in Mark's new Stryker Blue G8 GXP, and it looks even better in person than in his pictures. Lynda and Lee Flieg drove up from Searcy in their white 70 GTO - that car keeps looking better. Frankie Rider showed up to check out the cars - he works nights so I was really amazed he made it at all (I couldn't). He didn't bring a car, but since he's also a member of the River City Cruisers, it would have been a display only anyway. Marshall Johnson showed up later in the day with his Bonneville (and with news on his progress on his 78 T/A). Mary Ann, Eric and I took our new Sport Red G8 GXP - the a/c works better than the GTO's and I wanted to break it in a little.
There were 10 total Pontiacs there, including 2 65 GTOs (one was for sale) and a 66 and a 71 Lemans. There was also a yellow 78 T/A (not David's) and a Black/Gold 79 w/403 auto.
The plus side to the location was that if you got hot (we did), you could go into the dealership and check out Mark Martin's museum. We had done that a few years ago but it was worth another look - and their waiting room was large and had Speed TV.
Overall, it was a good day.
65 GTO, 2000 GP GTX, 2009 G8 GXP, and C-130 Pilot!
