I have to get this off me chest so I'm doing it here.

We need officers for this club. Our current slate have done their duty. They've been in the lead during one of the most active periods of the APA. Now it's time for nominations for officers and we have exactly ZERO folks who have offered to serve.

I'm upset.

Dad blast it folks! You joined a club because somebody took the time to form a club. To ask those same people who have done all the work to build a club to do ALL THE WORK is not what a club should be about. So you paid your dues? That's a great start. So you showed up at a couple of events and pitched in? We're grateful to be sure but the bottom line is some new folks need to step up and take the lead.

We might get some of the old timers to keep it rolling but I wouldn't count on it. If we do, they will probably serve one more term but that's going to be it. I guess what I'm saying is that if we don't have leadership we can fold this club as easily as we started it.

Chris, I will be first to answer, I live 1.5 hrs from Little Rock, we have a couple of retail businesses that are open 6/7 days a week. Being a small family business we pretty much have to be in the business. I am also the Sec/Tres (4 years) of a car club in Fordyce, we have about 30 members, our president has held that capacity for about 14 of the past 15 years. No one wants to do this job but when asked will do almost any of the grunt work. That being said when I finish my car I will be happy to help with a few of the projects but I don't feel because of the distance I live from the hub of the club I would be very effective as an officer. I hope this club will be able to continue doing what its members have worked so hard to accomplish, having as active a club as the Arkansas Pontiac Association is a plus for not only Little Rock but also the State.

If any of you want to bring you Pontiac (any cars are welcome) to Fordyce this Saturday Oct. 17., South Arkansas Kruizers is putting on our fall show that will benefit the American Cancer Society. First, Second, Third place awards plus Best of Show and People Choice trophies and drawing for door prizes. Hamburgers, drinks and chips sold at the show. The Crown Jewel of South Arkansas "Klappenbach Bakery" is next to the lot where the show is held, you can dine-in on some of the best Rubens, Philly Cheese, BLT's, Hero's, Turkey Clubs plus soup of the day. Take home some of the many breads, my favorite is the garlic French bread that is already sliced and smeared with garlic butter wrapped in foil so all you have to do is pop in the oven for 22 minutes.

I hope the moderator doesn't edit this for it's commercial nature. Phil

That was not aimed at those who live outside the immediate central Arkansas area. Distance is the one excuse I do understand.

I guess I'm just feeling a litte frustrated with the whole officer thing. It seems every time we hold an election we have to beg people to serve. Pardon my crankiness.

Oh, I wish I could come this weekend. I have a family obligation so I'm out and after that my job has me out of town quite a bit. I think car stuff is done for me until next year.

I know, I have felt guilty that I haven't been able to even attend the meetings much less work in the club.

I really would like to step up. I have thought about this ALOT! but with 2 kids that are young and a wife that doesn't do car show...it would be really hard. I am more than willing to help and do what I can. Its just sometime my hands are tied and I cant get away or do anything. If someone does step up I would be more than willing to help as much as I could!

Agree 100% I'd love to be able to be a more active participant in the club, but with my current schedule even attending monthly meetings is a stretch....

I know I'm new and I own a Ford , but I have been wanting to get involed with another club. My schedule is pretty flexable (except on Auto-X days )to help out with what ever is needed.
