Toys for Tots Cruise

This weekend looks to be a fun one. Some of us are planning on doing the Toys For Tots cruise from the Benton Airport to War Memorial Stadium on Saturday morning. This cruise leaves at 10am sharp so you need to be down there by at least 9:30 and many folks show up by 8am to be near the front of the cruise. The entry is one new, unwrapped toy worth at least $10. This is a great charity event that is pretty fun too. The weather looks to be cold but clear, which should make the cars run very well! I will be there. It's always freezing cold when they have their cruise. I don't know about the cold making some of the cars run, a couple of years ago I was behind one from the 50's that would jump, lurch, smoke and die every time we slowed down. I couldn't figure out if there was something wrong with the car, if the guy didn't know how to shift or both. It is fun and for a good cause.

Dixie Car Club's 6th Annual Toys for Tots Caravan
Open to all antique, classic, vintage, exotic & specialty cars & trucks.
Assemble at Holland Chapel Baptist Church (on the service road east of the Saline County Fairgrounds.) Interstate 30 Exit 116, Benton, AR starting at 8:00am.
Departure time is 10:00 a.m. with Saline County Sheriff &
Arkansas State Highway Patrol escorts.
Route is east on Interstate 30 to Interstate 430 and exit at Colonel Glenn Road to the Toys for Tots collection station in front of the Clear Channel Metroplex at 10800 Colonel Glenn Road.
Entry fee: 1 unwrapped, new toy valued at $10 or more.
Free Food, entertainment, music & fun all day.
Vehicles can be on display all day.
