The Rock's Auto Extravaganza

It's this Friday-Sunday at the Statehouse Convention Center. We'll be working it so if you can pitch in, let Brian or myself know. There won't be a lot to do after we get them set up on Thursday and Friday but you never know. We'll run whatever errands Carol wishes. See you there.

I know my car will be down there and I am working on a banner right now. My oldest is having tubes put in her ears so Friday is going to be really hard for me but plan on Saturday for sure!

My wife will be at a baby shower during the day, so I'm sure I'll bring the kiddos there and show them how to properly drool over some nice cars.

I'm one tired puppy right now but I'm proud to say the really nice cars are here and in the barn, so to speak. There will still be some setup to do tomorrow but for the most part the show field is set. The quality of the cars is up there again this year. There's a certain 70TA that has our attention.

The radio station 94.1, The Point was down at the StateHouse this morning between 7:00 and 9:00 for their show. They interviewed Bob Doty and a couple of other people. They talked about Mark's General Lee and his A-Team van, they liked both of them. Did anyone catch the whole show? Mark - Brian and I detailed them out and had the ropes placed around them.

I have to admit I'm a little jealous. Tammy was there with Beth and Mary Ann most of the day today. They were working registration. They got to spend about an hour with the legendary George Barris before he went to the show floor. An hour with one of the icons of automobilia is pretty special.

And for the record, there are some people I'm going to thank already for their hard work up to now. That would include Ed and Beth Helmstetter, Brian and Mary Ann Ray, Wayne and Stacy Major, Betty Mitchell, Tony and Kamong Riddick (and Em) along with my lovely wife. I'm sure I left out some of the other folks but I'm tired and it's getting close to my bedtime so forgive me.

Another good show. I'm too tired to say much else. I do want to thank all the club members who came down and worked. It was good to see some other club members who just dropped in to visit as well.

Thanks to betty and brian for cleaning on the General and the Van. It wasn't easy getting the cars down but it was cool. Its first show all 3 have been at.. at the same time. I am ready for a little warmer weather and APA to go some where...

It was a pretty good time. We did on-site resto work on three cars there, think that's a first.

Really enjoyed seeing you all again and seeing the great cars in attendance, both APA and others in the show. We didn't stay too long.... it took a while to get Erin's towering Valentines balloon hat in the car! Hope to see all of you again soon.
